Payne & Patten Qualify for Sevilla World ChampionshipsStockport Metro’s World Championship silver medallist in the 10km
event, Cassie Patten was joined by teammate Keri-Anne Payne.
Both swimmers began their careers in the pool and still continue to
compete in an indoor environment, however both have made an
impressive start to open water as an addition to their programme.
Payne took the gold medal with a solid performance to finishing in
2:05:43.00, giving her a great start to 2008 as she looks ahead to
the Olympic year. Patten had pre-qualified for Seville as a result
of her world silver medal in 2007. The event gave her the
opportunity to experience a demanding 10km event early in the year
and came third with a time of 2:05:51.00 |
